Have you ever mustered up a compliment for someone who did something you only WISH you could do? Only for them to blow you off... giving an excuse that kept them from receiving the words you literally offered as a sacrifice to your pride?

I have. And it rubbed me the wrong way, made me jealous; got under my skin and irritated that competitive side in me I try so hard to squash. It made me want to back up, and draw up a list of my excuses so I could get away with some stuff I have yet to accomplish. Or better yet, I felt I now had a reason why I could rightfully exclude them from my circle of influence.

But that’s clearly not what God would have us do in pursuit of our purpose. Which is why I believe God put so heavy on my heart this lesson from the life of Ruth; this Word of God which convicted me so sorely.

So if you’ll join me as we step back into the real life story of Ruth, I’ll highlight two bad habits to avoid, and one good habit which will lead us toward God’s best so that we can be overcomers, encouraging and lifting others out of their excuses as well!

What's more...
Wait patiently for the Lord.
Be brave and courageous.
Yes, wait patiently for the Lord.
Psalm 27:14 NLT
